It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it.

Rounding resources

Blog: Try using number lines to graph numbers first, then round. https://beyondtraditionalmath.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/tricks-are-not-for-kids/

Only use the trick if it makes sense!

    2. 1.2 ÷ 0.04
    3.  of
    4. 4.16(0.2)
  • Finding the Average (mean)
  • Latisha earned an 85% today. Her previous scores were 72%, 89%, and 90%. Calculate her new average (mean). Homework Help ✎
  • Data Analysis
  • Consider this data: 22, 15, 30, 51, 27, 33, 19. 1-38 HW eTool (CPM).Homework Help ✎
    1. Arrange the data into a stem-and-leaf plot.  (Refer to the glossary if you need a reminder of what a stem-and-leaf plot is.)
    2. Find the mean and median.
    3. If the value 51 was replaced with 33, which measure(s) of central tendency would change and which would not?  Explain.
  • Area
  • Estimate the areas of Montana and California using the grid below. Which state has the greatest area? Compare the area of Montana to the area of California. Explain how you estimated the area of each state.  Homework Help ✎
Grid showing areas of Montana and California
  • Patterns
  • The pattern below is composed of nested squares. 1-40 HW eTool (CPM).  Homework Help ✎
  • Pattern of nested squares.
    1. Draw the next figure in the pattern.
    2. Find the area of the shaded region for the figure you drew in part (a).

Graphing

Slope is the steepness of a line. The slope of any line is just a ratio comparing the "rise", or vertical change over the "run" or horizontal change.

This slope tree helps us remember that positive slopes go uphill, negative slopes head downhill, a horizontal line has "no slope", and vertical lines have what are called "undefined slopes".
